Does your business have a long name, and a long web address?
Something like Dreyfus-Cortney-Lowery.com or DreyfusCortneyLoweryRiggingAndSupply.com? You want your company name to be your domain name. That makes sense, it's your identity. But a shorter address might be nice for email, something like DCL-USA.com.
That's exactly what DCL did. That use those longer names for company identification, but utilize the shorter, easier dcl-usa.com for email, and their website.
Many are doing the same thing. Here are just a few sites I know of that are doing something similar:
- PremierPersonalAssistants.com – uses PremierDoesIt.com for their email
- IndustrialFabricsInc.com – uses Ind-Fab.com for their email.
- Hands-Free-Faucets.com - uses HFfaucets.com
It should be simple to setup with your host. Register the shorter domain name, and ask your web host how to use the short name on your website/email.
